The project logo City of Concord Consolidated Plan - Primary Needs Survey

The City of Concord receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist low- and moderate-income persons. As part of the acceptance of these funds, HUD rules requires the development of a Consolidated Plan every five years. The consolidated planning process is an effort undertaken by the City of Concord and the Cabarrus/Iredell/Rowan HOME Consortium.  The plan establishes the goals for the next five year period and outlines the specific community development activities that the City of Concord and Consortium members will undertake to address affordable housing development, infrastructure improvements, fair housing, environmental protection, enhancement of civic design, and economic growth initiatives that will principally benefit low‐ and moderate‐income persons.

We want to hear from you

As part of the planning process, the City is conducting a needs assessment survey to identify needs in the community. The information gained from this survey will assist in establishing a unified vision for community development activities and evaluates community needs according to Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) national objectives. Those objectives are:

  1. Benefit low to moderate income persons
  2. Prevention or elimination of slum and blight
  3. Urgent need

The survey will be open from March 27 to April 17. We estimate that the survey will to take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.  Please help us by promoting the survey through your webpage, postings, notices, meetings, newsletters etc. Thank you for your feedback!

If you need additional information or have any questions, please call/email  Pepper Bego, Federal Program Coordinator, 704.920.5133 or begop@concordnc.gov.
